Steve is a native of Campbellsville, Kentucky, and has lived in the Berea area since 1986. He has over 35 years of experience in tax and accounting practices.  He holds a BBA in Accounting from Campbellsville University and did masters work at Eastern Kentucky University. He is enrolled to practice and represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent. He currently resides with his wife, Paula, in Berea. They have five children and seven grandchildren.

Melissa is a resident of Corbin, KY, and has over twenty-five years of experience in tax and accounting practices. She is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She has a daughter and is a member of the Corbin Rotary Club.

Ian earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Accounting in 1989 from Mercyhurst University.  After spending eight years with Arthur Andersen he transitioned to private practice where he has served as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & President of many multinational businesses. Ian is the father of three grown children and he has a vast array of personal interests, which include: travel, piloting, scuba diving,  golf, triathlons, boating, and more.  

Lee is a resident of Corbin, Kentucky. She is a graduate of Cumberland College and is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a Financial Advisor. She has 30 years of varied experience in accounting, tax and advisory. She is married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren.  

Robin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, she had nearly 20 years of experience in accounting. She currently resides in Richmond with her six children.

Kara, originally from Oregon, joined Davis & Hessel in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, she had over 20 years of experience in financial services. She currently resides in Berea with her husband and 3 children.

Elizabeth, a lifelong resident of Jackson County KY, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University and joined the firm in 2018. In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys going to concerts and hanging out with friends.

Marci brings more than thirty years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting and operations to our firm. Born and raised in South Africa, where she completed her training with KPMG.  Marci lives with her husband Peter in London, KY. She has a daughter and enjoys traveling, crochet and hand work. 

Brooklyn joined our firm as a recent Eastern Kentucky University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting. During her time off, she enjoys kayaking, reading, traveling, and crocheting. Brooklyn resides in Rockcastle County with her husband.

Brett is currently a Junior, studying Public Accounting at Eastern Kentucky University. In his free time he enjoys reading books and playing sports. His hometown is London Kentucky.
